Monitoring and data are central to how we learn what works and what doesn’t as we try to rebuild kūtai reefs across the Hauraki Gulf.

Monitoring of both our kūtai deployments and habitats where wild kūtai remain is central to building the knowledge needed to refine restoration methodologies and grow confidence in future kūtai restoration efforts.

In addition to kūtai monitoring, our team delivers an end-to-end monitoring service: planning, executing, and reporting on monitoring trips to support a range of biosecurity and conservation efforts.

About monitoring

Proactive monitoring helps us understand how the Gulf is changing over time, and informs where and how we focus restoration efforts.

In this video, we share why ongoing monitoring is a critical part of our restoration mahi.
