Jesse Thompson

Ngāruahine, Ngāti Maniapoto, Ngāi Tahu

Kaitohutohu Pāpāho / Communications Advisor

Born and raised in Tāmaki Makaurau, Jesse moved to Brisbane in 2011 to study a Bachelor of Arts and Journalism at the University of Queensland.

While in Australia, Jesse worked across the public and NGO sectors in communications and policy advisory roles. Upon his return home to Aotearoa in 2016, Jesse worked in similar roles in the public sector, before making a conscious shift to supporting NGOs to effectively engage with central and local government.

Jesse supports the Revive Our Gulf team to share the story of our mahi, and the people behind it: our team and our partners who are working together to re-mussel the Hauraki Gulf through experiments that will inform future restoration at scale.
