Revive Our Gulf strongly supports the renewal of temporary fishery closures under section 186A of the Fisheries Act 1996 requested by Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki, Ngāti Tamaterā, and Ngāti Pāoa.

These closures are important measures that support the replenishment of depleted shellfish and other taonga species, while also recognising and providing for the exercise of kaitiakitanga and customary fisheries management by tangata whenua.
